DGS President-Elect 2019-2020

Abdulaziz Almansour

Abdulaziz has eight years of multidisciplinary experience in Hydrocarbon Resources & Reserves Assessment, Regional Resources Assessment and Yet to Find mapping. Abdulaziz is focused in Reserves Assessment, Decision Analysis, and Petroleum Economics. Abdulaziz is currently working at the Exploration Resources Assessment Department. This include assessing, updating, managing, and reporting hydrocarbon resources of all Saudi Aramco’s Oil and Gas fields. Abdulaziz has been volunteering with DGS as a YP since 2011, and was the DGS Professional Development officer in 2014, the DGS Publication Officer in 2017, and the DGS Vice President of Public Outreach in 2018. Abdulaziz believes that the DGS has the tools, the support, and the capacity to become a globally-recognized professional society and a unique platform for regional oil and gas geoscience professionals.

Ibrahim Alyami

Ibrahim joined the company 2010. He has a bachelor degree from Liverpool University in Geophysics from 2006-2010. He is working in GRCD since 2013. During that period he went for assignment in 2015 with RSD working in GHWR KHFF IRS for a year and another assignment with GPTSD in 2018 for rock physics and inversion.

Hamad Almakhayitah

Graduated from Institute of Public Administration as Human Resources Specialist.
Worked for Saudi Aramco as a Secretary in GRCD.

Ghaith Alshaia

Joined Aramco in 2002, have BS in computer engineering and master in geophysics. Travelled to mostly all over the Kingdom and a lot outside. Have great knowledge about the different geological and archeological attractions in Saudi Arabia. I provide consultations for society of cultural and tourism heritage and I am the president of ANHA (Arabian Natural History Association).

Abdullah AlQahtani

Abdullah AlQahtani is an exploration geoscientist working with Eastern Area Exploration Department (EAED) of Saudi Aramco with almost 15 years of industry experience. He started his career working with EAED in August 2004. He then moved around to work with other Exploration entities including Wellsite Geology, Reservoir Characterization and Geosteering Group. After obtaining his master’s degree, Abdullah returned to the EAED where he spent five years generating prospects mainly targeting Pre Khuff reservoirs in the West Ghawar area. He has been working with EAED’s Planning & Support Group since 2016.
Abdullah holds a B.Sc. degree from the University of Kansas and an M.Sc. degree from Colorado School of Mines, both in geology. He has authored abstracts, conducted workshops and co-chaired sessions in several conferences. Abdullah is a member of AAPG, EAGE and SPE.

Naif Alassaf

Naif Mohammad Alassaf was part of College Preparatory Program (CPP), university sponsored students, and Saudi gifted student’s program in high school. Naif got his geophysicist bachelor’s degree from University of Tulsa in 3 years and a half with high honor. Currently working with Regional Resource Assessment division as a geophysicist interpreter at the Exploration Resource Assessment Department (ERAD) in Saudi Aramco. In addition, Naif has some expertise in the areas of Seismic acquisition, geology interpretation, and 3D/2D processing as he worked at Geophysical Data acquisition Department (GDAD), Surface Geology, and Geophysical Imaging Department.
Naif enjoys helping and communicating with other people. He adores volunteering and helping the community in any way he can think of. He does not miss any opportunity he gets to volunteer especially to help the people in need such as visiting clinics and bringing joy to kids with cancer, and organizing events for kids to enjoy and have fun. Naif is an optimistic guy, you cannot change the direction of the wind, but you can adjust your sails to always reach your destination.

Fares Aboud

Fares Aboud is a geologist working for Saudi Aramco as a clastic sedimentologist and stratigrapher. Fares joined Saudi Aramco in 2007 where he has been exposed to different aspects of Geology in the oil industry. He worked in Saudi Aramco’s Geosteering Center. After that, he worked as a reservoir development geologist and then a wellsite geologist working on the rig sites and supervising geological aspects of drilling operations. In 2010, Fares started his work on clastic cores as a sedimentologist. He characterized Cretaceous reservoirs as well as Carboniferous-Permmian and Devonian reservoirs for clastic sedimentology and sequence stratigraphy. Fares has worked on and led Mega projects within Saudi Aramco and contributed to Event Solutions. Fares obtained his BSc from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia and his MSc from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) in the USA.

Ali Rabaan

I am a reservoir geophysicist in Saudi Aramco with a focus on ‘quantitative seismic integrated modeling’. I received my geosciences bachelors degree from Virginia Tech in 2013, where the beautiful Appalachians and Blue Ridge Mountains lit my passion for earth sciences. In 2018, I received Saudi Aramco’s ‘Outstanding Leadership in Healthy Human Capital Investment’ award for running the Health and Productivity program in my home department.

Saad Alshehri

I have joined Saudi Aramco in 2010 working as a Geologist with the Southern Fields Characterization Division. I have went through a rotation with Wellsite Geology Division, Geosteering Operation Center and Ground Water Division until my assignment with Unconventional Gas Resources in Houston (2013-2014). I came back to Dhahran mid 2014 working with Jafurah and Ruba’a Alkhali Division supporting the operation and building new workflows and standards in the emerging division. In 2016, I have started working as a Geomodeller. In 2018, I have lead a group of 5 professionals to deliver the first high resolution 3D-Geomodelling shale play in the kingdom for the whole Jafurah basin. During 2018-2019 DGS Term, I was the Professional Meeting Officer.

Hussam AlSadeg

Louisiana State University Alumni with a bachelors degree in Geology. I joined Saudi Aramco workforce under the Emerging Unconventional Assets Department in 2015. Throughout my career, I have worked as a field geologist foreseeing and supporting operations. Been involved in the group that established Geosteering center at the Unconventional Resources. This year, I am part of the Geomodeling team.

Fayrouz Alessa

Fayrouz Ibrahim Alessa was part of Aramco CPP (College Preparatory Program) university sponsored students and Saudi gifted student’s program in high school. She got her geophysicist bachelor’s degree from University of Houston in 3 years and a half. Currently working as a geophysicist interpreter at the Unconventional Resources in Saudi Aramco. In addition, she has some expertise in the areas of Seismic interpretation and 3D Processing as she worked as part of an assignment with Emerging Unconventional Asset Department and Geophysical Imaging Department.

Waleed Algharbi

Waleed has 9 years of experience with Saudi Aramco working on play based exploration, regional plays assessment, seismic interpretation and attribute analysis. He has a B.Sc. in Geophysics from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals and an M.Sc. in Geosciences from the University of Tulsa. He is currently focusing on seismic sequence stratigraphy and stratigraphic forward modeling.

Nasher AlBinHassan

Nasher graduated in 1994 from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) with a BS in Geophysics. He received his MS in Geophysics in 2003 from the University of Houston and obtained his PhD (2010) in Geophysics from Imperial College London. From 1994-2001, Nasher worked for Saudi Aramco as a computer analyst, programmer and provided seismic interpretation software support. Since 2004, he is working with the Geophysical Technology Team under EXPEC-ARC. Some of his contributions were: predicting reservoir properties using artificial intelligent methods and automation in interpretation to extract faults and horizons automatically from seismic data. Currently, Nasher is the EXPEC-ARC champion of AI and Big Data Analytics technologies.

Khalid Alotaibi

• Working with Saudi Aramco since 2011.
• Currently working with the Exploration and Appraisal team in the Southern UR Exploration and Appraisal Division, Unconventional Resources.
• Prior to joining the team, I worked with several departments, such as Area Exploration, Wellsite Division, Geosteering Operation Center, Unconventional Assignment with Schlumberger and Unconventional Resources.
• Bachelor degree from Aberdeen University, UK with Honor.
• Master degree from Curtin University, Australia with High Distinction.
• Involved in several volunteering roles, such as Aberdeen Saudi Club Activity Director, Exploration Safety Initiative (EXSI Initiative) committee and Curtin University International Student Ambassador.

Haya Alubaidan

I am highly self-motivated person who looking forward for take a new Opportunities and have passion in technology, I have a bachelor’s degree in management information system regarding of my working experience I joined Saudi Aramco Sep,2014 working as IT system analyst within Expec Computer Center (ECC) I am certificated in many different area related to IT infrastructure such Red hat System administer ,IBM certified and CCNA certificated. Because I think that IT is my passion I become with initiative it have been implemented with my Department and ECC level also it have been recognized from MR Nasser alnaimi as one of success idea during 2018.this idea known as Waslatech it is an initiative to build a connection platform between young professionals and experts in IT.in Jan 2019 we celebrated Waslatech achievement for last year, now l am leading Waslatech team my team have 5 PDPs and one professional and we are looking for more in 2019. Also I was part of fist winner team in upstream Hackathon team, I was part of SPE 2015 worked with Media team to build new SPE website. Beside that I am good writer published many articles in Qafilah and YLAB magazine.

Dana AlAbdulKarim

Dana AlAbdulkarim is a geologist currently working with Northern Area Exploration Department at Saudi Aramco. Dana has graduated from The University of Leeds with a degree in Geoscience.In 2012, she joined Saudi Aramco where she worked in Reservoir Characterization Department, Wellsite Geology Department, Geosteering (Remote Casing Control) and Area Exploration Department. Dana’s previous experiences has allowed her to effectively integrate her set of skills for a better development at the Northern Area Exploration Department. Dana believes that work achievements can be obtained through team work, which is the key for satisfaction. She also believes that maintaining good relationships with colleague can be achieved through volunteering. She is an active member in the Dhahran Geoscience Society and the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and has a passion for volunteering.
